What age did you start gymnastics?
2.
2. How did you start in gymnastics?
I loved to flip around, so my mom enrolled me into a gymnastics class!

I’ve been fortunate enough to never really have any mental blocks.

Shawn Johnson
5. What was your hardest struggle during your time as a gymnast?
I would say either injuries or going through puberty.
6. How do you handle nerves when you are competing?
This is kind of random but I have two things I do: 1st: I remember that you only live once. 2nd: I think to myself that this routine will take less time than the time it takes to make Rice-O-Roni.
7.What was your biggest accomplishment in gymnastics?
2x USA National Team Member, Junior World Silver Medalist.
8.What did you do after you were done competing? Did you stay involved or did you do something totally different?
I’m currently still competing.

You don’t have to be perfect all the time, just have fun!

U.S Classics
11. How do you handle pressure from peers/coaches/fans?
I don’t allow the sport to make me feel like I am under pressure. I usually block out all the noise.
I just don’t allow myself to get stressed, trust the process.
13. Did college gymnastics ever cross your mind as something you wanted to do?
Yes, 100% I want to do college gymnastics.
14. Least favorite event and favorite event? And why
Beam, because you have to be perfectly straight or else you fall off.
15.Hardest and easiest gymnastics skill to train?
My hardest skill is a pak full on bars. My easiest skill is a double tuck on floor.
16. How did/do you deal with getting in your head on skills?
I don’t usually get in my head, but if I were to I just remember that my coaches would not ask me to do something I couldn’t do.
17. How did you stay out your head at practice and at meets?
Same things as above 😊
18.Have any of you got a skill for a few weeks on any event and they a week or too later you just can’t do it? This is happening with my round off on beam right now but glad I have a back up series? If this has happened to you how have you dealt with it or overcame it?
Yes!! Just go back to the basics and work drills!
19. Advice you would give to current or people who want to start in the sport?
Enjoy the moment! 😀
